Roadmap

What’s next on Big Law Bear

We ship continuously and try to be honest about what’s built, what’s in progress, and what’s still under evaluation. This page is the live version of that distinction.

For shipped work, see the changelog. For requesting something specific, email hello@biglawbear.com (students) or firms@biglawbear.com (firms). Feature requests with real customer pull are prioritized.

In flight

Actively being built right now. Most ship within the current cycle.

Email + offer-letter template designer v2

Firms

Image upload (not just URLs), drag-to-reorder blocks, conditional sections ("show if signing bonus > X").

Bulk pipeline actions

Firms

Multi-select on the applications kanban: bulk move stage, bulk decline with shared note, bulk archive.

Application analytics, yield projections per school

Firms

Project signing rate at each tier and hold-out group based on the cohort's historical yield curve.

Mobile dashboard polish

Students

Tracker, application detail, and offer-signing flows built mobile-first because students do much of their recruiting from phones.

Queued

Designed and committed; will start once in-flight items ship.

HRIS integrations, Workday, SuccessFactors

Firms

Push signed-offer events into the firm's HR system so recruiting → onboarding handoff is automatic.

Reference-check automation

Firms

Auto-email referees with structured questionnaire when a candidate hits the offer stage; aggregate responses to the firm portal.

Interview prep assistant for candidates

Students

Per-firm prep packets the night before the interview: practice questions, firm-specific recent news, partner bios.

Public bias audit reports, quarterly

Platform

Publish the LL144 four-fifths-rule audit results as a permanent record on /legal/nyc-aedt-notice.

CSP nonce migration

Platform

Tighten production CSP from unsafe-inline to per-request nonces. Plan in docs/security-h8-csp-nonce-runbook.md.

Exploring

Ideas we believe in but haven't committed to yet. Feedback shapes the priority.

BLB Rank, proprietary firm composite score

Students

Composite ranking weighting culture signals, work-life data, training quality, and recent attrition. Not launching this cycle.

Match score, student × firm fit

Students

Suggest firms based on practice interest, geography, and stated culture priorities. Cap at "suggestion", never a gate.

Compensation transparency aggregation

Students

Anonymized signing-bonus + COL-adjusted-base-pay ranges across a cycle, surfaced in firm profiles.

Firm-side copilot, recruiter inbox

Firms

Draft replies to candidate emails using the firm's voice + tone profile, queued for human review (never auto-send).

Public bug bounty program

Platform

Move from acknowledgments-only to a paid program once we have the budget.

How we prioritize

Three inputs, weighted roughly equally:

  • Customer pull. Active firms + students asking for the same thing.
  • Risk. Compliance gaps, security hardening, and deliverability take priority.
  • Strategic value. Items that compound across multiple surfaces (e.g., the brand-kit pattern, the queue+drain pattern).
